All I can say is wow!!!! After the last two terrible times at BWW I read the reviews and they were right. Service from Dana was great..she knew her stuff and recomened the perfect flovors of wings. She took her time and was very friendly. I will tell all I know about this place and now me and my girlfriend will be regulars. Yelp really hit it on the head about this place..BRAVO to Wings ect and thanks for great service. Fried pickle spears were great . They are in Crytal Lake and ask for Dana she is a great server.....

Love this place ! Best hot wings and service around ! Its in C.L. Not McHenry !

After eating at BDubs multiple times over the many months I have lived in the area, I decided to give 'the little guy' just down the road a try to see how they fared. They were just as pricey as their competitor and the fry of the wings were comparable, but a big drawback is their over saucing of the wings. For my order of 10 wings, I had over a half an inch of sauce pooled at the bottom of the basket and by the time I got to the last wing, what once had a nice crunch, was now soggy... Not so good. Since they cost the same as BDubs and are not quite as good, I won't be back. The one positive they have over BDubs is that they have a pinball machine. (I love pinball.)

This place was truly disgusting. Kids (19-23 yrs) bar. Food was gross. "Soupy" Wings are served in a fry basket with wax paper. Wings with half a basket of water (??) and some sauce. Yuck, Apalling to look at. Waste of money. Service slow, nobody in there. Rap music blaring at 6:00 on Sunday. Manager must be MIA. Kiddy bar mostly. I know why I haven't been back for a few years. Can't seem to find a bar with good wings in McHenry County....

These are, hands down, the best wings in town! We always get two dozen (bone in wings) in a ladder of flavors and have never been disappointed. Their draft beer selection is rather slim, but we don't go there looking for craft brews, you know?

Best place for wings & to catch a Cubs game in Crystal Lake! Try TNT and suicide sauce! Fav burger is the Larado, southwest ranch is awesome!

First time there. Place is great, friendly and some really good specials both food and drinks. If you like super messy wings this is the place to go. So much sauce on them and in basket for extra dipping. We had garlic-parmesan and me-so-messy and beer battered onion rings. Delicious.. Going to try Wednesday for .49 shrimp with any flavor.

Been eating there since they opened (not by choice) some friends of mind like it there. Wings are ok, if you like fried naked chicken with sauce poured over it, which my wife does. I usually get the boneless wings which is like chicken nuggets with sauce poured all over them, but not tossed. I made the Huge mistake of ordering the ribs well if you think the wings are bad Do Not order the ribs. They are baked ribs with the sauce poured over them after they are completely done cooking, THEY SUCKED!!! And hey owners when someone spends a $1 a wing and buys say 6-10, give them more than 2 pieces of celery, You cheap bastards!!

We have eaten here a few times & we have found that we enjoy it more every time. In my opinion, this is a step up from Bdubs. The Chili here is my all time fav!! I always order some of their wings, with a couple of their unique sauces. They have a huuuuge menu. You can order a Homewrecker hot dog, BBQ pulled pork sandwich, buffalo Chicken wrap and a ton of other options. This is definitely hidden in a strip mall and very close to Bdubs, so it doesn't get the attention it deserves. If you give it a try, I am sure it will become one of your favorite wings stops!

Awful service. The waiters can't see when you seat yourself because of the large walls surrounding each table (which would be great for privacy if the servers were trained to actually check of people sat in them), after a 5 minute wait I had to get up and ask the servers all the way in the back of the restaurant for menus. When ordering drinks I asked if the water was filtered - she said yes but brought me tap water. When we were ready to order the server was nowhere to be found. When we finally saw another server walk by we had to ask her to get our serve

Food is good we go there a few times a month. Wings are a lot bigger than Buffalo Wild Wings. Service is always good. It seems like recently they have been understaffed, but they make it work.

  • Jax V.

Never returning. Service was terrible, when they finally brought our order it was wrong. The final straw was a loud vulgar table that the staff had no control over - their answer, when they should have tossed them out, or called the police (since clearly the staff had NO control of the place) was instead to serve them more drinks. I would generally chalk this up to them having a 'bad day' but this has been the norm for their service over the last several visits. Sorry wings, not sure where thins went wrong because you started off with a bang, but you've lost our business.

Cold beer, hot wings, and the big game on tv. I mean that's about all you need in life. Top it of with good service and a great crowd and I'm a happy man. I recommend though, stay away from the hamburgers. For whatever reason they over cook them for safety.

We come here often. I prefer Wings Etc over any of the other wing getting places in the area. The wings here are much larger than an often abbreviated competitor. Maybe twice the size.. and better quality too! My typical order is the 10 traditional wings hot and a side of the curly cajun fries and a side of the TNT sauce. The wife always does the tweener boneless wings. The TNT sauce is great for dipping the fries in. The atmospehere is your typical sports bar type place.. some tv's with sports on them. If you are a wing lover or even just a liker... you should check this place out. I have never left dissapointed or hungry. Oh.. And the staff is usually pretty friendly too.

These are some of the best wings I've had in the area. They are so fresh and crispy with some really great sauce choices. I do think this restaurant's prices are a little high for what it is - a sports bar with wings. It feels kind of wrong to spend more than $10 per person on wings with no drink included. That doesn't seem to keep me from going there when I have a serious wing craving though. It's really not a kid friendly place, FYI. I had a pregnant lady wing craving on a random Thursday at 11am, so I took my 2 year old son there with me. I felt like we didn't belong. They don't offer any coloring or similar activities to occupy kids like most restaurants in the area do. Since it's not really the bar-scene on the middle of a weekday, maybe they could encourage more business by offering such things for kids? Just a thought.

  • Lauren W.

Ehh... Sundays are not a day to get wings. They're regularly priced and turned out that our bill was extremely expensive for no apparent reason.

Very nice place to go out to have some wings. I've been going to Wings, etc for about 5 years now. When the economy was really bad, this place was dead. Recently it's been really getting busy, which is good for them. Anyway, the wings are very good. They have a big schooner beer that is a good value. And actually, there burgers are pretty good too. My absolute favorite thing about this place is there wait staff. Always friendly and always happy. If you like wings and don't particularly like Buffalo Wild Wings, this is the place for you.

Every time I've eaten here it's been less than impressive. But one time I came in, sat down at a table and waited 30 minutes. Never saw a server or even a worker other than the bartender. There was only one other table with guests, but still, the server could have checked on the dining room at least once in that time. We got up and went to the other wing place in town, where we sat down and got immediate service.

My wife and I have been here several times. Each time it's gotten worse and worse. Tonight was that straw that broke the camels back. Poor service, we waited a long time to place our dinner order. When our boneless wings came, they were over cooked (too crunchy) and dry. Then we saw people sitting at the bar, go behind it and tap their own beers. Didn't look like there was a manager anywhere.

We had bad experience when we went to eat here this past Saturday. We both ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and mine came out completely wrong. My boyfriend had barely any wing sauce in his wrap. Also, my fries were cold and no Cajun seasoning on them, which I had ordered that to be on the fries. When the wrap came out, there was a lot of lettuce on one side of the wrap and the chicken, cheese, etc. On the other side..it was weird. The waitress gave us a discount, but unfortunately next time we will go next door to bww.

I've been here a couple times in the past year or so. I used to come more often but the quality has really dropped. I used to come here more often but starting about a year ago, the quality really fell off. I ordered the medium buffalo wings. When I got my order, the wings were bare and all the sauce was in a pool at the bottom. I asked the bartender to complain and she said, that's how they always are. Thinking maybe they had a couple new people, I tried them a month later and ordered the same thing and got the same thing, bare wings with the sauce in a pool at the bottom. Well fast forward a year. I figured they must have worked through what ever was going on, I stopped by and of course ordered medium buffalo wings and chili fries. Let me just say that the chili fries were great and is why I am giving them two stars rather than just one. The wings were, yep bare with the sauce in a pool at the bottom. As I stated, the chili fries were great but the restaurant isn't called Chili Fries Etc. and they are also not why I went to this restaurant. In the future, I will be looking for a place that knows how to make wings.

I don't know what took us so long to check this place out but I'm sure glad we did. We finally went in on Saturday night and boy, we've been missing out. By far bigger and better wings then BWW and about the same selection of sauces too. Plenty of TV's so you won't miss anything. I like how the booths are on an angle too! Great selection of food, great service what more could you ask for?!!?

Had a great boneless wing dinner with the family. Blake was an awesome server that Wings should hang onto at all costs! PS. Monday 49 cents wings and 1.49 domestic drafts.

  • Josh Z.

Do not get anything with nacho cheese!!! Comes out in brick form. Wings are okay and the sauces are so so. Nothing to brag home about. Wings beat Buffalo Wild Wings but you can find better in some of the bars downtown CL.

  • Brian S.

Simple wings...no muss, no fuss! Great for grabbing wings to go etc if you're in the mood. This place is a simple sports bar with a simple menu and definitely a good place for Monday Night Football or the like. Staffing has been friendly but a little bit understaffed and tired sometimes, so the service has been underwhelming. I can,t really give a glowing review but I would say there is plenty of different sauces to choose from and really there is a decent selection of domestic big brand beers. No complaints... :)

Where to start....well the Poppers were actually good and didn't taste like they were freezer burnt - which is always nice. So what about the wings...to be honest they were pretty good. We ordered 12 Buffalo (Mild) and 12 of the Tangy/Sweet. The buffalo sauce and wings were okay nothing great or special. The Tangy/Sweet one's were actually very good. The 24 pieces of wings showed up with only two lousy pieces of celery (no carrots), so either the cooks can't count or this place is super cheap. Aside from the wings, the service was adequate. There are lots of plasma big screen TVs but not one of them had the sound on so you could enjoy the games. I guess that would be normal if there was music in the background being played but there was no music. The whole experience leaves you feeling like WTF...the only thing you hear is people ordering or chewing! So our bill was $40 bucks for 24 wings, one order of poppers, a single coke and two large draft beer (Coors). The best thing about this place was the BEER...it was COLD...just as one would hope. We would have given this place 1.5 stars but Yelp doesn't allow it. One stars would be unfair - maybe it was a bad day for the crew, so they get two stars. The general ambiance of the place is actually very cool and it could be a fun place to watch a game, drink some beer and eye ball the fairer sex. Oh one more thing...don't bother parking in front of the place (facing route 14) the only entrance is in the back of the restaurant, so park there. They may want to put some arrow in the windows showing people where the hell they need to go, to even get into the place. Yep...another lack luster dinning experience in McHenry County.

As others have said, this place has some pretty good wings. My wife and I split an order of the 24 boneless wings. The chicken was juicy, and they had a nice crunchy breading. The wings prices are a bit pricey, but they're a decent size so you do get your moneys worth. We also had the loaded fries (cheese, sour cream, and bacon) which was a big let down. The fries were soggy, and the sour cream wasn't quite right. They have three large TV's and the music is cranked up, but not obnoxiously loud. Warning, the music isn't kid safe, so families be warned. Overall this is a nice spot, we'll definitely be back!

I'm very happy with this wing shack!! Almost every time Ive eaten here I have left satisfied. Most everything seems fresh cooked and they always have a drink special. Ive only had one meal there that wasn't very good, wing sauce wasn't quite right. Staff is very nice and the wing sauces are unique.

We were looking for somewhere other than the main chains to have some food and drinks for the Bulls game and we found ourselves here. Man, am I glad we made that decision. It's tucked away in a small strip mall right by the large BWW's so I don't think a lot of people know about this place but they should. Their wings were delicious, larger than most other places and very tender. I really like how both the bone and boneless wings are the same price when pretty much everyone else charges you more for boneless. They don't have the number of sauces BWW has, but they pretty much cover all the same flavors and spices. They also have a pretty large menu for things aside from wings. They had burgers, chicken sandwiches, pulled pork sandwiches, dogs, pizza, wraps, salads, and plenty of appetizers. I tried their Prime Rib Philly wrap and it was amazing, the prime rib was cooked perfectly! They have lots of different beers on tap too and the service was pretty good I thought for how busy they were. It's not a very large place and it fills up fast so I would get there early if you're going for a sports game. Although, I would recommend it for any night of the week!

Great place! I've driven by here dozens of times and never tried their wings until last night. They are fantastic! Huge, juicy, tender wings. I had their medium heat buffalo sauce and tried both boneless and regular. These are some of the best wings I've ever had. Huge schooners of ice cold beer to wash down the wings too. I'm a fan and will be back! They happened to be running a 39 cent wing special and 3.95 schooner of beer special this week.

  • Jimmy K.

I love wings and this place has the best ones in the area. I have tried many of their sauces and the Wall is certainly good and hot (and it still has flavor)! I haven't tried to get my pic on the wall because that is a lot of food to eat (I think it's 16 wings)! The cajun fried are awesome. My wife always gets the nachos and the portion is HUGE! The ONLY thing that BWW has that is better is their Mango Habanero sauce...other than that Wings Etc. is better hands down! If you like wings, this is your place!

  • Anatoly D.

A very poor man's alternative to a good wings place. A hint for management: buffalo wings are not simply fried chicken wings dipped in sauce. They are DEFINITELY not simply fried chicken wings with sauce poured over them. The Wall Traditional wings were certainly spicy. They were also wet. As in, completely soggy at the bottom. If I had wanted chicken soup, I'd have asked for it. At least the service was good -- our waitress was very attentive. I went with some friends as part of a goodbye party. The friend we said goodbye to, I hope to see again soon. Wings, Etc.? Not so much.

Franchise sports bar that's new to the area....they opened just before football season started I think, or some date that coincided with the football season. 1st time we went, it was okay. 2nd time we got some takeout wings and when we got them home there was not sauce on them. Ugh. They say third time's a charm...but....no. The waitress spent most of ther time in the back loitering around the drink station talking to her friends. I could tell because we could see them standing there. I asked for diet soda, it was totally flat. I got a second one, still not great. The girl admitted they were pouring the drinks out of 2-liters. Somone suggested to me that maybe they aren't getting their bills paid and maybe Pepsi is not providing them with syrups and stuff. Who knows. Anyway, the kicker is we had 20 wings, a garlic bread appetizer, and a chicken salad with three drinks.....$30!?!?!? WTF over? They bill this place as a family sports bar...and it kind of is, except for the family part. Plenty of cigarette smoke floating by and guys in pick up trucks with t-shirts advertising country music. Music was strange too, including Danzig, some rap stuff, and plenty of twangy droning stuff too.

This place has good wings. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We usually go on Mondays for the .50 cent wings. By far the better wing place in C-Lake.

Haven't been here in a while, don't remember it being this bad, but you won't see me there again unless some major changes take place. Had a simple buffalo chicken sandwich with curly fries. The sauce was good, I went with TNT, but the breaded chicken beast was terrible. At least a 2 to 1 ratio of breading to meat, ie, almost no chicken, way over cooked, darkness of breading makes me wonder how old the oil was. The curly "fries" were not edible. I don't know how they did it, but it was like eating only the outside of an over cooked fry in that same oil, I really don't think there was any potato in the curly forms of nasty fried grease. The waitress gave me a discount because I complained, hence the 1 star.

Awesome! We had Claire as our server. She was on top of it and had great comebacks to my partner who thinks he is so hilarious. Food was great Had hot wings and had to say....much better than the big BWW.. definately going back to take advantage of the beer specials! Family friendly. Great time.

This place is fun! And very good food! But very loud! Me and my family come here a lot because it is a friendly place! Some places are not like that. Whenever we come here there is not a lot of people and the only thing that is very loud is the TVs and music. But that really dose not bother us. Oh and by the way there "house breaker hot dog" is good but REALLY big!

Every time I visit my girlfriend in Crystal Lake we stop in to Wings Etc. for a beer and some hot wings. The place is ultra casual and super laid back and has some really good beer and wing specials. I recommend having a scooner...they are huge! Also request Blake as your waiter, he is really good and very friendly.

My family and I moved to crystal lake 5 years ago and LOVED the food. The service was awesome and wings were coated well and everything was delicious. Bigger portions, too. Fast forward 5 years later: not the same. The service is still friendly, however the food has gone downhill. The wings aren't coated, it's like they take a spoonful and drip it over the chicken. Really? That's it? Their burgers are really Mediocre. We asked for medium and we were served well done. The burgers were dry, not at all juice. I didn't like the presentation either. It's like they slapped together the burger and didn't care what was being sent out. I'm very disappointed that my favorite wings place has gone down hill. I went back on a Saturday night and it wasn't even packed. You can tell why.... Sorry but I'm done with this place. I've been a loyal customer for years but enough is enough. Guess I'm on the search for another wings place...

  • J B.

Honestly, I love this place... Been coming here for years now, great wings, lots of tv's, and descent service. BUT... The tvs still aren't all synced up! So we're hearing people cheer before we see a play unfold!!! This is taboo for a sports bar... Been a problem for years, and it's INSANE they don't have this figured out! Asked the bartender... And she asked the manager, and he said he had no clue how to fix it. I'll still come back! But... Please! Get this figured out! Food and beers... 5 stars... TV situation... 3stars... You are a sports bar.

We decided to make a stop here based on a fellow Yelpers raving review and some correspondence. I brought the entire family here during the week at an off time. It was just past the normal lunch hour, so the place wasn't busy at all. In fact I think we were the only ones not sitting at the bar. So the service was pretty good. The waitress was attentive and nice. Now I love hot wings. I don't care where you go; I love a good hot wing. Walking into a restaurant named Wings Etc. I came in with some very high expectations. Being new to the place we wanted to try their various sauces and we agreed on five different ones. Hot, Me-So-Spicy, Spicy Hot Honey, Sweet Chili "Cha-Cha" and Gar-Licky-Parm. What was funny is that it was my 10 year old son that ordered the Hot. Even after the waitress, my wife and even I warned him that he may want to sample it first because not all wing places "Hot" are the same. Needless to say, my son who takes more after me than his mother when it comes to Spicy food thought it was just a tad too warm for him. I thought they had a good heat, not too bad. The family favorite was the Sweet Chili "Cha-Cha". No one at the table liked the Spicy Hot Honey at all. The rest of them were okay, not great, but definitely not bad. I was just hoping for a better flavor from the sauces we choose. I'm not trying to compare it to other places I've been to, but some of the sauces seemed to pale in comparison to similar products at other chain wing restaurants. I won't go out of my way to eat here again, but if I'm in the mood for wings and there is one nearby. I'd give them a try.

My very first visit to this place I was verbally assaulted by the supposed "manager" Stephanie. I sat down and ordered a drink. My waitress asked to take my license which I thought was weird but I said ok. She then comes back and tells me that my friend and I need to leave and she cannot serve me. I was shocked but then looked over to see the manager coming at me like a raging buffalo. She had some sort of personal beef with me and in front of the entire dining area started screaming at me and calling me names. Tried to call the police on me for being there..mind you...literally just being there. Backstory...I am her fiance's ex gf. So, I guess at Wings Etc the staff is allowed to be incredibly unprofessional if they don't like someone. Last I checked, we can eat anywhere we want. Not at Wings. Later, I received an email BANNING me from the restaurant by the owner's daughter. Now again, all I did was walk in and sit down to order a beer. Everyone, look out for Stephanie the manager. Girl is INSANE. Since then, I've ignored the comical ban and have been back numerous times. The food is ok...nothing to get excited about. My fiance likes the wings when he's out of options. Service is CRAP. All the servers have the same vapid look on their face. And the shots they put on special are really, REALLY gross. Go to B-dubs or Wings N Rings....don't waste your time. This place is in need of some cleaning house before it can get any better.

Went there for the first time the other night. Service was slow and the food was dismal. The main disappointment was the kitchen staff blowing kisses and making inappropriate comments at me as I was exiting the ladies room, which is located in front of the expo line. Needless to say I will not be returning.
